Basic steps for graphic designers

Communicate effectively -

A graphic designer must listen to his client and periodically show him the first versions of the design project, to ensure that the client gets what he wants. Weekly or daily status reports are needed to ensure that the project is completed as planned. Graphic designers often lack communication to find errors before they escalate into problems and follow the changing ideas a client may have throughout the design process. When this happens, the design or logo will be radically different from what the customer was considering. As a graphic designer, I have found that the client will want to change the design several times to meet their expectations. If there is a lack of communication throughout the design process, a designer and a client will do more work for themselves. If an error is not detected before more work is done, you are often forced to scrape all the work, because the error was not detected before going in the wrong direction.

Do the job properly the first time -

like everything else in business, time is money. A good graphic designer will do the job correctly the first time, i.e. he will take the parameters of what the client wants and create the design as best he can to meet these requests, within the allotted time. All specifications and requirements must be clearly presented to the designer, who must respond with the utmost care. Communication is essential to ensure that the project meets the requirements and remains in place. If the design or project does not match what the customer was considering, steps must be taken to provide the final product within a reasonable time frame, as well as a reduced or free service charge.
